Nero Vision: Using the Storyboard Tool

Nero Vision is perfect for anyone who wants to create a professional looking DVD or BluRay disc. The software handles everything that you need to make a high quality video. It handles importing videos, editing and creating professional looking menus. Nero Vision is also particularly easy to use, which makes it very simple to create high quality video productions.

Most of the editing for videos with Nero will be using the storyboard tool. This tool makes it very easy to control where the various clips and parts of your video are played in the storyboard. The storyboard makes it possible to arrange your video into a professional video.

Step 1: Launching Nero Vision

The first thing to do is load Nero Vision by selecting it from the start menu. If you can't find it, then this could be because it's not installed. Installing Nero Vision is easy by putting the Nero CD into your drive and running the automated installer. Once Nero Vision is loaded, you should see a splash screen.

Step 2: Creating a Movie

If you already have a project that you want to continue using, then you will be able to open this project. Otherwise, click on the Create Movie button on the main menu.

Step 3: Exploring the Project Window

Once you have clicked the Create movie button, the application will display the Project Window. This is a useful part of the program which is used to add videos, add transitions and also select where the video files will appear in the timeline. Get used to the project window so that you will be able to use it to create high quality movies.

The project window is separated into sections which will display a list of the media files on your computer. If you want to add files which are not included in the media window, then you can click the browse button. This is the first button located at the bottom of the media window.

Step 4: Capturing Video

Nero Vision also makes it possible to capture video directly to the application. To do this, you will need to connect your camera using a USB or firewire cable. Then, click the capture window and select the options to import the video from your device.

Step 5: Using the Storyboard

The storyboard is a very useful tool which is also very simple to use. To position a video on the storyboard, click it from the media gallery and then drag it down to the correct position on the storyboard. This works in the same way as a timeline, but has a thumbnail image displayed which makes it very easy to control.

Different types of media can be added to different parts of the storyboard. For example, the title track can be added to the storyboard and then the video track can be added afterwards.

The storyboard is the best way to have your content line up perfectly together. This means that it's something that you should spend time learning how to use.
