How to Convert DVD to FLV with Movkit Software
The Movkit DVD Ripper Pro is a professional computer tool which allows users to convert movies taken from a DVD to FLV or select from other possible video formats. Converted files can then be played on one of several portable media devices, electronics and more. The converted copy can also be uploaded online. FLV in particular is a video file format which is commonly used when uploading or viewing video available online. The following is how to use the software to convert DVD to FLV format.
Step 1: Download and Install the Software
The Movkit DVD Ripper Pro can be purchased from the company’s official website. A free trial version of the program is also available for download. The trial is fully functional for a period of 10 days after installation. However, a watermark is placed on the exported file when using the trial version. After downloading the installation file, install the application on the local hard drive.
Step 2: Launch the Program
Insert the DVD which contains the movie into the computer’s DVD Rom. Launch the DVD Ripper Pro. Press the button labeled “Open DVD.” A window will open which displaying the source of the movie. If the program is unable to detect the DVD, select the source from the list. The program will alert you if the DVD is encrypted or protected.
Step 3: Select the Output Format and Titles
DVD Ripper Pro is known for converting DVD movies into the FLV format. This is suitable for uploading onto websites for online viewing. Other export options include converting DVD movies to AVI, MPEG1, MPEG2, WMV, RMV8, RM, MOV, MP4, 3GP and 3G2. From this window, the user may also choose the quality of the video. Click on the FLV option. Select the quality of the video from the Profile drop down menu located directly below the list of output icons and press OK. Choose the titles to be converted. You may also choose to convert only specific chapters, the type of audio and subtitles. The program also allows you to select how to split the files. On the same window, click the Split tab and select whether to save by chapter or by customizing the split.
Step 4: Edit the Video and Audio
Click on one of the titles or segments to be converted. Underneath the list is a selection of choices arranged in tabs. Press on the Input Settings Tab. You may adjust the settings of the video’s brightness, saturation and contrast from this tab. Move the sliders as needed. Clicking on the Crop & Aspect Ratio tab will allow you to modify the screen size of the output movie.
Step 5: Convert the Movie
Choose the destination folder of the converted file by clicking the Output Path option, located at the lower left portion of the main window. After making all of the modifications, press the green GO button. You may choose to preview the movie while it is being converted and to shutdown the program after the conversion process is complete. If you are unhappy with the effects, press the green button again to stop.
