Travel Photography is a great way to earn some extra money and it is also something that many people can enjoy. Anyone who enjoys photography and traveling will find travel photography is a very rewarding way to make money. You can travel all around the world and take some great photographs. Whichever country you visit can be a great place to take some photos for fun or even to earn some extra money. With luck it should be relatively easy to turn this into a profitable career.

When taking photos in the Americas there are a few important things that you should bear in mind. This part of the world has some unique conditions which are important to respect when taking travel photographs.

Step 1: Packing the Right Equipment

The process of taking great travel photography in the Americas starts well before you even leave the house. It is important to make sure you're taking everything with you that you need. You might think that you will remember, however, it's all too easy to forget something very important which can cause a lot of trouble and expense if you really can't live without it.

Make a list of everything you need to pack and make sure you have all of these things with you. You will need to take a digital camera (unless you still prefer film), selection of different lenses, plenty of memory cards and batteries. Also don't forget your battery charger otherwise you will run into trouble very quickly. In terms of lenses there's no definitive answer on the types of lenses that you should take. If you are taking photos of nature for example then a telephoto lens would be ideal. If taking photos of plants then you might want to use a macro lens. Depending on the types of photos you are taking you need to ensure you have the right lenses.

Everything should be packed in a high quality bag to keep everything well protected. Also, it's a good idea to take it on the plane with you rather than risking checking it.

Step 2: Knowing the Location

The Americas is such a large continent that the conditions can change depending on where you travel. Down south it will be tropical and up north it will be much colder. Depending on where you are traveling to you will need to know exactly what you need to take with you. Don't just concentrate on the camera equipment either. You must also ensure that you have plenty of clothes which are suitable for your location. These include jackets and coats for when it's cold.

Step 3: South America

South America is one of the most interesting places on earth and that's thanks to the rain forest. If you want to take photos of nature at its best and most diverse then a trip to south America is a must. The amazon spreads over most of south Africa and this is very beautiful. The continuous green mountains are only interrupted occasionally for mountains and rivers.

South America also has modern metropolitan cities to photograph. These include Rio De Janeiro which has some outstanding buildings. Sao Paulo is another city in Brazil which is worth a visit. This is a trendy city with lots of nightclubs. If you want to capture the youth on film then this is a great city to visit.

Step 4: Editing

The photos can be edited and touched up when you get back home or when you get to your hotel room. When they are touched up they can be uploaded to stock photography sites and travel websites straight away.
