Photography Tips: How To See the Preview Screen on Sunny Days
When learning photography you will discover many photography tips which will help you to make the most out of your hobby. There are hundreds of different tips that will help you to master photography. One major problem with digital cameras is using them outdoors. The screen on your digital camera can be very difficult to see when the sunlight is very bright.
These tips will look at some of the best suggestions which can be used to make sure that you can see the screen no matter how bright it is outdoors. This will be very useful, as it makes it possible to look at exactly what you are taking a photo of clearly.
Depending on the camera you use, you might find that it is more difficult to see the screen in sunlight. However, there are a number of different things that you can do to ensure that you can see the screen much better.
Step 1: Adjusting the Brightness
One of the easiest things that you can do to make it easier to see your screen outdoors is to adjust the brightness. Try to make the camera display as bright as possible by adjusting these settings. This should make it much easier to see your screen in sunlight. However, you might still find it too difficult to see the display clearly.
Step 2: Screen Protector
Another option is using a screen protector to protect your screen from sunlight. Many of these screen protectors are polarizing, which should make it much easier to see your screen under sunlight. These screen protectors are thin pieces of plastic, which are simply fixed onto the screen using adhesive. Sometimes this can affect the brightness, however, it shouldn't be noticeable.
Step 3: Shielding
One other easy way is to use your hand to shield the screen from the sunlight. Of course, this isn't always convenient or comfortable to do. A much more convenient way would be to make your own LCD camera shield or drop cloth.
Step 4: Measuring Your camera
Start by measuring the camera screen and working out where it is. This will make it much easier to make a shade for your screen.
Step 5: Cutting Cardboard
The easiest material to use for your shade is cardboard. Although this won't be long lasting, it will be very easy to make a replacement if needed. Simply measure the size of cardboard required and cut it out of corrugated cardboard. Make sure that the corrugations run horizontally so that you can easily make a flap.
Step 6: Fixing It onto Your Camera
The easiest way to fix it onto your camera is using something that isn't permanent, such as white tack. This shouldn't leave a mark either, but ensure that the tack does not get in between the buttons on your camera.
There are also lots of other devices which can be purchased to shade your cameras screen. These are useful and look much more professional. Many of them also function as a screen protector for while the camera is in your bag.
