Bring the Right Equipment for Wedding Filming
Filming weddings can be an extremely profitable business. As long as you take the right equipment with you then it can also be great fun. Forgetting something that you need to take can make your life very stressful. Hopefully this list will be helpful in deciding exactly what you need to take with you.
As long as you have all of the necessary equipment required to film your wedding you should be able to make a success of it. It can sometimes be difficult to remember everything you need to take with you which is why it's important to plan in advance.
1. Digital Camcorder
The most obvious thing that you will need to film a wedding is a camcorder. It's possible to do this using a standard camcorder which is suitable for home use. However it's much better to choose a professional quality video camera that won't let you down. The camcorder you choose should be able to take high definition videos and have a long battery life.
Choose the type of camcorder that will allow you to capture as much video as possible. This should make it much easier to record an entire wedding.
Depending on the type of camera you have purchased you will need to take a different type of camcorder media with you. The popular types of media include MiniDV tapes, SD cards or DVDs. MiniDV tapes are often the choice of professionals because they can hold longer videos. Some camcorders also have built in hard drives which means no additional media is required.
Weddings are an all day event for the videographer. This is why it's important to take plenty of batteries with you. Spare batteries might be expensive but they can help you to prolong shooting. Always take more batteries than you think you'll need just in case. Also, try to time when you change the batteries so that you don't need to change batteries when something really important is happening.
You might also like to take a battery charger with you which can be used in your car in case of emergencies.
There's nothing worse than jerky wedding videos. They are annoying to watch and also look very unprofessional. Avoid this by using some form of tripod or monopod. Choose a high quality tripod which is stable and light as this will make carrying it around much easier. Check that the tripod is capable of supporting your camcorder and that it won't be top heavy.
5. Lens Wipes
Microfiber lens cleaning wipes should be taken everywhere you go. You never know when you might get rain, dirt or children's fingerprints all over your lenses. A good cloth will help to get rid of these marks without risking causing any harm to the lens itself.
6. Camcorder Bag
There are so many things that you need to take around with you that the easiest way to carry everything is to put it inside a camcorder bag. Camcorder bags are designed to make it easy to carry everything around and also provide protection to your equipment.Popular Tripods:
