Xara Xtreme: Designing Individual Letters

Xara Xtreme allows you to design every individual object on your work plane, and this includes individual letters. And, like most other things in the software, it is actually quite easy to do. This tutorial will show you how to design individual letters in the same body of text.

Step 1: Create Your Text

After you have decided the look you want from your text, select the text tool from the main toolbar and create your body of text exactly where you want it to be. For a better workflow, make sure that you have enough space for all the changes that are going to be making to the letters. You can also move them individually after changing them.

Step 2: Select Individual Letters and Change Them

Once you are done typing your text, start with the first letter you want to change by selecting it with the text tool. You can start anywhere in the body of text. Once you have selected a letter, choose a tool to transform it. For example, if you want to give it a 3D effect, choose the 3D Extrude tool and tweak it to your liking. Or, you can bevel it using the bevel tool. You have every Xara Xtreme feature open to you at this point.

Step 3: Rinse and Repeat

Once you are done changing one letter, follow it up by selecting another letter the same and changing it whichever way you like. This software lets you treat your letters like any other object, so you can just go all out and create exactly the look you want. Try out different fonts to have more fun!
