Roxio Creator: Creating 3D Photos

Roxio Creator is one of the most powerful photo and image editing applications which is currently available. This software is capable of all the normal editing tasks and is also capable of creating some stunning 3D photos. These photos can be enjoyed by anyone and are a fantastic way of displaying your family snaps in a whole new way.

It's possible to create these realistic looking 3 dimensional photographs by using a 3D digital camera, regular camera or just digital photos that you have managed to find. The best thing to do is play around with the features to see exactly how everything works.

Step 1: Opening Roxio Creator

The first thing that you should do is Open Roxio Creator by selecting it from the start menu. Then, you will need to put it into photo mode by clicking on the Photo tab down the bottom of the screen. This will display all of the tools available for photo editing. This includes cropping, editing and importing.

Step 2: Creating 3D Photos

To create a three dimensional photo, you should click on the Create 3D Photos button. There are two of these buttons located in the application which can be used to create your own photos.

Step 3: Loading Photos

Next, you need to import your photos into the application so that you can convert them into 3D. If you are using a Fuji Film 3D camera, then you can import the MPO file directly into Creator. If you took two digital photos from a different angle, then click on the Open Left/Right image options. Click the Load Photo button below the left and right eye. Then navigate to the photos of each different view.

If you want to work with a 2D image, click on the "Open a 2D Image" which is at the top of the screen.

Step 4: Positioning the Photos

When you click on the next button, the application will then be working with two separate versions of the photo. These two images are either automatically generated by the software or loaded by you. Roxio creator combines these two images together to create a realistic 3D effect.

The two photos can be moved around if needed to make the effect look even better. It's a good idea to wear a pair of 3D glasses when adjusting the image to make sure that it looks perfect. If you decide that they looked better before, then you can click the button to reset the position of the photos.

Step 5: Cropping the Photos

Once you are happy with the combined 3D image, you will then be able to crop them to center the viewers attention. To do this, click on the crop tool and drag a box around the area of the photo that you want to keep.

Step 6: Saving the Photo

When the photo looks right, you should then save it by clicking on the Save button at the bottom of the screen. This saves the file in a standard JPEG format which can be uploaded to the Internet or printed out as normal. To view the 3D photo, you simply need to pop on a pair of 3D glasses.
