Pinnacle Studio: Understanding the Sound Effects Section
The sound effects section is located within the Album in Pinnacle Studio. The Sound Effects section contains many sound effects that you can use throughout your movie project. The sound effects that come preloaded with Pinnacle Studio are in WAV format. WAV format is a Windows wave file. When creating your own sound effects, Pinnacle Studio does permit you to use an audio format other than WAV. Other audio formats supported by the Sound Effects section in Pinnacle Studio include MP3 and AVI. There are several categories of sound effects in the Sound Effects section, including animals, bells and cartoons.
Sound Effects Folder
The name of the folder that you are viewing in the Sound Effects section is located at the top left of the Sound Effects section. You can view the various sound effects folders that were created by Pinnacle Studio by using the drop down folders list. If you created your own sound effects and did not add them to one of those folders, you cannot use the drop down folders list to locate the new folder. Instead, you will need to click on the folder icon, which is located to the right of the drop down folders list. The folder icon allows you to browse your computer hard drive so that you can locate the folder.
When you have a folder open in the Sound Effects section, the various sound effects will be displayed as icons. Pinnacle Studio makes it easy for you to preview the sound effects. To preview a sound effect in the Sound Effects section, all you have to do is double click on the icon or the name of the sound effect.
Obtaining Additional Sound Effects
In addition to the sound effects that come preloaded with Pinnacle Studio, you can purchase additional sound effects on the Pinnacle Studio website. To be directed to the Pinnacle Studio website, go to Help in Pinnacle Studio and click on Purchase activation keys. There are also many third party companies that create sound effects that you can use in Pinnacle Studio.
Using the Sound Effects Section
It is very easy to use the sound effects that are located in the Sound Effects section. To add one of the sound effects from the Sound Effects section to your project, you must have the Movie Window opened in the Timeline view. With the Timeline view open, all you have to do is drag the sound effect from the Sound Effects section and drop it onto the Timeline.
Pinnacle Studio will automatically place the sound effect onto the sound effect and voice over track. Once the sound effect has been placed onto the sound effect and voice over track, you are able to position the sound effect in the exact location that you need it.
