Pinnacle Studio: How To Use the Equalizer

In Pinnacle Studio, the effect that the equalizer creates is very similar to the effects that treble and bass controls create. The main difference is that the equalizer in Pinnacle Studio allows you to perform much finer adjustments. This guideline will go over directions for using the equalizer.

Using the Equalizer

When you open an audio clip in the equalizer, the equalizer will divide the audio spectrum into ten different bands. Each band that is created in the equalizer will be centered on a different sound frequency. You are able to use the bands to make adjustments to the selected audio clip. If you are familiar with musical terms, the center frequency of each of the ten bands is similar to the pitch of the note B. Each band covers one octave.

Each band has a slider that allows you to increase or decrease the contribution of each band's frequencies to the total sound. The frequencies that are available range from -24 dB to +24 dB. When you make an adjustment using the slider, the adjustment is automatically applied at full strength at the center frequency. The adjustment will taper to zero in either direction.
