Pinnacle Studio: How To Select Scenes and Files

In Pinnacle Studio, there are several ways that you can select scenes and files. This guideline will go over the five ways that you can select scenes and files that are located in the Videos section of the Album. When you select a video scene in the Videos section of the Album, the scene will feature a highlighted border. When you select folders or video files in the Videos section of the Album, the folder or file will be shown with text highlighting.

Select All

There are two ways that you can select all scenes, files and folders that are currently being displayed in the Album. The first way is to click on Edit and then Select All. You can also press Control and A on your keyboard to select all scenes, files and folders that are currently being displayed in the Album. When you use the Select All command, Pinnacle Studio will also select scenes, files and folders that are on other pages in the Videos section of the Album.

Selecting Neighboring Items

It is very easy to select a range of neighboring items in Pinnacle Studio. To select a range of neighboring items, all you need to do is press and hold the Shift key on your keyboard while you are clicking on the scenes, files or folders in the Videos section of the Album. You can only use this method to select items that are adjacent to one another.

Selecting Non-Neighboring Items

You can also select non-neighboring items, or items that are not adjacent to each other, in Pinnacle Studio. To do this, you will need to press and hold the Control key on your keyboard while you are clicking on the scenes, files or folders in the Videos section of the Album. You can also remove an item from your range by clicking on the item again while you are holding the Control key.

Marquee an Area

When you marquee an area in the Videos section of the Album in Pinnacle Studio, you are selecting all of the items that intersect that area. To marquee an area, you will need to ensure that your mouse is over a blank area of the Album page. When your mouse is over a blank area, all you need to do is click and drag to create a marquee.

Arrow Keys

The final way to select scenes, files and folders in the Videos section of the Album in Pinnacle Studio is to use the arrow keys on your keyboard. You can use the arrow keys to navigate through all of the items located within the Videos section. When you have landed on an item that you want to select, press the Shift key. As long as you press no other keys on your keyboard, you can continue to use the arrow keys and the Shift key to select multiple items in the Videos section.
