How to Make a Brighter, Whiter Smile with Paint Shop Pro
One of the many things that you can do with Paint Shop Pro is give yourself and others a whiter smile. Using this feature is easy and can be done quickly if you have the right amount of knowledge. Below are some of the necessary steps to get a brighter and white smile in all of your photos.
Step 1: Choose a Subject
When you are just starting out, you may want to get a photograph that will be easy to alter. In this case, a closer image of a face with a good teeth bearing smile should be a good starting point for you. Keep in mind that you will be zoomed in on the teeth while you do this, so it does not have to be too much of a close up. Once you have become better acquainted with this effect, you will be able to go on to more challenging photos.
Step 2: Utilizing the Tools
You will want to begin by selecting the teeth in the photograph. In order to do this, you are going to need to choose the 'lasso tool'. This tool is located on the left hand side of the screen in the tool bar. Once you have selected this, you will need to set the different options in the new lasso tool bar. Choose the 'freehand' feature in your tool options. You'll want to change the selection type to 'point to point'.
Step 3: Using the Alpha Channel
This selection is going to need to be saved into the 'alpha channel'. In order to do this, you will need to click on the 'selections' option located on the top of your screen. In the 'selections' drop box, you will see an option to 'save to alpha channel.' Choose this to get your image saved to the alpha window. Once you have clicked 'ok,' then a new window will open and you will be given the opportunity to name this channel. Once you have named it, click on 'ok'.
Step 4: Using the Toothbrush
When you are looking at the toolbar on the left hand side of the screen, you will see a 'makeover' tool. Once you click on the makeover tool, you will be provided with a whole new toolbar filled with makeover tools. For teeth whitening, there will be a little toothbrush for you to click on to activate this feature.
When choosing the strength for this tool, it is wise to begin at fifty. The higher the number, the brighter they will be. You don't want to go too white, as this will make the white teeth seem very unnatural. It's best to play around with the number with each picture that you use this effect on, as the color will vary from person to person. Move the cursor onto the teeth until the cursor changes into a toothbrush. Click on the area of the teeth that the toothbrush is rested over. This will whiten the teeth immediately.Popular P&S Cameras for High Quality Photos:
