How To Add DVD-Rom Content To a DVD in DVD Studio Pro
DVD-Rom content is able to be transferred on to a DVD using Studio Pro, which is a software that Apple Inc published. This is an application that will allow you to turn other projects, such as Final Cut Pro and Motion projects, into DVD format as well. You do not have to encode them to intermediary format using this software. This creates a steady work flow and cuts down on overhead costs that you will normally have to pay out of pocket. Studio Pro provides an excellent DVD quality. There are a few steps to follow in order to add DVD-Rom content to a DVD using Studio Pro. The step-by-step guide to take is listed below.
Tools and Materials Needed
- Blank DVD
- DVD Studio Pro
Step 1: Create a Folder
Create a folder and label it DVD-Rom. Within the DVD-Rom folder, create another folder and label it Writing or Content. This is the basic set up for the DVD-Rom content for your actual DVD video.
Step 2: Find Project that Will Go on DVD
Click on the Disc area, not the Track or Menu area. Under the General tab, you will want to click on DVD-Rom. Click on Content then click Choose. This will open up a folder where you will put a check mark in the box labeled DVD-Rom. This will take you to the Writing folder, which is the contents of the DVD-Rom folder. At the bottom of this page, you will select Choose, which will choose the contents of the DVD-Rom folder. You should be brought back to the previous page where you selected Content.
Step 3: Check the Format of the Rom
Under the Location field, you will see a box labeled Joliet Extension Support. You will select this box. This will let you check the Rom format. At the top of the page, click on Build/Format. Scroll back down to the bottom of the page and for the Output Device, and choose Hard Drive from the drop down menu (not the DVD burner). You will next want to go to the bottom of the page and click on Build a Format. This will allow you to see that you have already set up the DVD-Rom content. You will save this to a folder by clicking Save at the bottom of the page. Once you see Formatting Successful/Formatting Finished, then you can click Ok and Save to save any changes.
Step 4: Play the Video Content
Click on the Image File you saved to the folder. You will see three
items saved in this file labeled Audio_TS, Video_TS and Writing. The
Writing folder actually has the DVD-Rom content listed in the menu.psd
file that you see if you click on it. Now if you will go to your DVD
player, you can actually play the content of the file. Click on the
words Button 1 to play the video.
