How Photolightning Works

If you want to easily preview and edit your photos, Photolightning is the program for you. This program is designed for both home users and industry experts, especially people in the real estate, online selling, inspection and construction industries. It only takes a few steps to get your photos off your camera and edited, and it’s so easy to use that even a beginner will quickly catch on to how to edit and share photos.

Compatibility and Price

Photolightning is compatible with Windows, including Windows 7. The company also offers an iPhone version of the program for users on the go. Photolightning costs $39.95, but you can try it for free for 30 days without any obligation to buy it.

How the Software Works

The first thing that you need to do is plug in your digital camera to your computer, and Photolightning will detect your camera and show you a preview of all the photos on it. If you don’t want to download an image, either skip it or delete it.

The program then copies your photos onto your hard drive. If your photos are on a CD or floppy disk, the program can also pull photos off of that. The program can distinguish between previously download photos and new ones. This means that you’ll never have to worry about duplicate images again.

Once you extract your photos, then you need to select from preset folder names, which help organize your photos so that you can quickly find them. Or, you can create your own folder names. This program will also search for any previously saved photos on your hard drive and display them in your Folder viewer. And, it even organizes the folders based on when the pictures were taken.

Editing Your Photos

After all your images are downloaded, you can now start fixing them. Available photo editing options include fixing redeye problems and brightening or darkening photos. You can sharpen or improve the overall color of your photographs or just use the auto contrast and auto level buttons, which automatically corrects these problems.

You can now also rename or add captions to your photos. Or, add in-photo text and geometric shapes like circles, squares and arcs. Splice together sections of different images, or create a collage or a page for a scrapbook.

With the caption feature, you can add the same caption to different photos. This is especially useful if the photo was taken of the same event or taken on the same day. Always save all of your changes so you don’t lose anything.

Sharing Your Photos

When you are done with all of your changes, share your photos with others. Use the predefined paper templates for major paper brands. Create 8 x 10, 5 x 7 or 4 x6 prints of individual photographs. You can also print entire pages of photos that include multiple images with captions.

Photolightning allows you to preview all of your images before you print them. This saves you time and money by ensuring that the version you are printing is correct before you actually print it.
