DVD Studio Pro: Creating Transitions
DVD Studio Pro makes it very easy to add transitions to menus. DVD Studio Pro is a very powerful program that makes it easy to edit and author DVDs on Apple computers. By adding transitions to your menu, it's possible to make them look much better. It's possible to add quite a lot of character to your DVD simply by adding transitions.
DVDs can quite easily become a piece of art in its own right. This is possible by adding transitions, which makes your DVD much more exciting to use and play with.
Step 1: Creating Menu
The first thing that you need to do is create a menu. If you're new to DVD Studio pro then the quickest way of doing this will be to use a template. These templates will also have built-in transitions, which will make using them much easier. In the palette it should be possible to choose a number of different menu templates. Alternatively, choose the option to start with a blank menu.
Import all of the media that you want to use on your DVD. This can be done in the Assets tab by clicking the Import button. Design the menu how you want it to look.
Step 2: Looking at Transitions
Click on the inspector button on the menu to load up the menu inspector. Click on the Transition tab and look at the current transition which was included with the template. Click on the Preview button to see what the transition looks like.
Step 3: Changing Transitions
The drop-down transitions box makes it possible to select different types of transitions for the menu. This will be the transition that is used as the transition between the menu and the video. Try experimenting with the different types of transitions until you find one that suits your project. Every time you choose one clicking the Preview button will give you an idea of what it looks like.
There are also a few other options that can be adjusted including the intensity of the effect and the duration of the transition. Extending this will make the transition last longer. Accept the changes once you are happy.
Step 4: Button Transitions
It's also possible to create button transitions in DVD Studio Pro. This is actually very easy to do and works extremely well. Click on the menu that you want to adjust and then click the menu inspector. In the Colors tab, change the color of the button when it's selected, activated and in the normal state.
Step 5: Previewing Menu
Hold down Command and click the menu canvas. In the pop-up menu select Simulate Menu. This will allow you to preview the menu and look at the finished project. Check the transitions and click the buttons to ensure that all of the menu transitions are working as they should be.
