Arles Image Web Page Creator: Working with Thumbnails

The Arles Image Web Page Creator is a good tool to create thumbnails that are just the right size. This gives website visitors an idea of what the images contain, while being small enough to mass display. Here is how to work with thumbnails while using the Arles Image Web Page Creator.

Resizing is not advised because the thumbnail simply loses its detail and becomes useless.

Cropping and Resizing

The best way to create a thumbnail is to crop an interesting part of the picture, that is representative of the entire picture, and use it as the thumbnail. Use the following steps to achieve a good thumbnail:

  1. Select the ‘Browse’ button from the main program window.
  2. This will show the Arles Image Explorer.
  3. You now need to select the ‘Define Thumbnail’ option from the ‘Image’ menu and mark out the area that you want to use as a thumbnail.
  4. Once done, you can verify the results by visiting the gallery and checking out the generated thumbnails.

You can always change the thumbnail by cropping out a different area on the image if you don’t like the previous one.
