Where to Place Security Cameras in Your Store

Placing security cameras in a store can be a very difficult decision. You do not want to have to spend a fortune on security cameras for your store, so you need to position them where you will get the most bang for your buck. As a general rule, you should have at least one security camera by your cash register, another by the front door, and another by the door that leads to your employees-only area.

1. By the Cash Register

It is a must that you have at least one security camera by any and all cash registers that you have in your store. If you have only one cash register in your store, try to position the camera in between the cash register and where the customer will stand. This will allow the camera to catch both the customer and the store clerk on camera.

2. By the Front Door

As a business owner, you need to be able to monitor who enters and exits your store. In the event that your store were to be robbed, you need a security camera to pick the criminal up as he walks in and out of your store. If you have multiple entrances for your store, make sure that the camera covers all of them.

3. By the Employees Only Area

If a criminal were trying to be sneaky, she may enter your employees-only area to steal some of your stock. For that reason, you should have a security camera positioned over the door that leads to your employees only area. Having a security camera in that location also helps you, as a business owner, keep an eye on your employees.
