Using the Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic

The Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic is an optic that is used for capturing soft photos, such as photos of flowers and landscapes. The Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic is a member of the Lensbaby Optic Swap System, which means it is compatible with the Lensbaby Composer, the Lensbaby Control Freak and the Lensbaby Muse. The Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic comes with aperture disks that range from f/2 to f/22.

Installing the Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic

You will need the Optic Swap Tool to install the Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic. To remove the optic that is currently installed in your Lensbaby lens, simply pop it out by using the Optic Swap Tool. With the previously installed optic removed, you can install your Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic by dropping the Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic into your Lensbaby lens.

Controlling the Softness

The aperture disks that are included with the Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic are used to manage the softness that your photos will be taken with. If you have an aperture disk currently installed in your Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic, you can remove that disk by using the Magnetic Aperture Removal Tool. Simply touch the tool to the tip of the aperture disk and lift the disk out.

You can then install a different aperture disk inside of your Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic by dropping it into the slot that is found on the front of your Lensbaby lens. If you have a special aperture disk, you can stack two disks in your Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic so that you can block the outer rings of holes that are found on your Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic.
