The Lensbaby Pinhole Zone Plate is used for creating pinhole and/or zone plate photos. Generally speaking, most people use the Lensbaby Pinhole Zone Plate when they are looking to capture soft focus photos. The Lensbaby Pinhole Zone Plate has a focal length of 55 mm. The aperture for the pinhole is f/177 and the aperture for the zone plate is f/19. Lenses that the Lensbaby Pinhole Zone Plate is compatible with are the Lensbaby Compoer, Lensbaby Muse and Lensbaby Control Freak. Using the Optic Swap Tool

When you purchase a Lensbaby Pinhole Zone Plate, you should receive an Optic Swap Tool, as well. You will need to use the Optic Swap Tool to remove the optic that you currently have on your Lensbaby lens. With the current optic removed, simply drop the Lensbaby Pinhole Zone Plate into place over your Lensbaby lens.

Using the Lensbaby Pinhole Zone Plate

You are ready to use the Lensbaby Pinhole Zone Plate as soon as it is installed over your Lensbaby lens. You will notice that there is a sliding toggle on the bottom of the Lensbaby Pinhole Zone Plate. You will need to use the toggle to switch back and forth between pinhole and zone plate modes. It is recommended that you set your camera to manual mode while you are using the Lensbaby Pinhole Zone Plate. Since you will be using slow shutter speeds, you should consider placing your camera on a tripod.
