How To Make Your Own Tripod Strap
A tripod strap is something that can help make lugging around your tripod much easier. You will not have to worry about purchasing an expensive bag and getting your tripod out whenever you need it. A strap will simply allow you quick and easy access to your tripod. Making one yourself will help you to save quite a bit of money. You can make the strap unique to fit your needs and wants.
- Shoulder Strap with Clips
- Cable Ties
- Split Rings
Step 1: Attachment of First Split Ring
You will need to begin by attaching your split rings to the tripod. Make sure that your tripod is collapsed whenever you do this. Look for the plastic nuts that are at the top of your tripod. These nuts are what will lock the rotation of your pan head. Once you have found them, you will simply need to get a cable tie and thread it through the very first split ring. Once you have done this, simply get it wrapped around the previously mentioned plastic nut. Be sure that you pull it tight so that it will be able to stay put.
Step 2: Attachment of Second Split Ring
The second split ring is going to need to be attached at the bottom of the tripod. Look for the flanges that are on either side; they are cut out of the central post on the tripod. A cable tie will need to be threaded through the second split ring and then through this area. Not all tripods have these flanges; if they do not, then you can simply attach them to the plastic nuts that are also at the bottom of the tripod.
Step 3: Strap Attachment
Once you have the split rings threaded and attached, you can move forward with your strap. You will simply need to get your clips and attach them to the split rings that are at the top and the bottom. Once you have done this, put the strap over your shoulder, and see if it is a comfortable fit. Practice taking the strap on and off to make sure that you can do it with ease. It is always a good idea to have a strap that is adjustable so that you will be able to have the maximum amount of comfort with your tripod. A strap that adjusts will also come in handy should someone else carry your tripod.
Step 4: Decorate
can be a lot of fun to decorate the strap according to your taste. The
possibilities are endless. Just make sure, of course, that your tripod
is not attached while you are decorating. This is especially true if
you are using paints or any types of liquids to decorate your strap.
Whether you decorate the strap or leave it as it is, making one
yourself will make sure that it is completely designed to fit your
