How to Make a Collage Picture Frame at Home

Any photos or pictures will look great kept in a collage picture frame. This is a great way of using up any scraps of paper you have available. Quite often train tickets, movie stubs and other things will get thrown away. However, these are a great way to remember your trip. These scraps can be used around the photo frame to make it more personal and interesting.

Step 1: Getting Supplies

First, you need to collect all the supplies you require. You will need a plain photo frame which is preferably made from wood. This will make it much simpler to fix the tickets and other mementos in place using glue. The frame should ideally be fairly plain and flat. You will also need scissors, glue, a digital camera (optional) and some sealer or varnish.

Step 2: Planning

Collect all of the things that you want to use in your collage. Now use your frame to position them correctly. The collage needs to overlap the sides of the frame so that all the wood is hidden behind the collage.

Step 3: Gluing

Once you have positioned the pieces of the collage correctly, you will then need to fix them in place. To do this, use glue to secure them to the frame. It's possible to move the college around a little bit until the glue dries.

Step 4: Varnishing

To protect the collage, you need to protect it with a coat of sealant or varnish. This gives your collage a hard transparent layer which provides plenty of protection.
