Rules for Uploading Videos to Myspace

Myspace does have a few rules when it comes to uploading videos to their website. The video that you wish to upload must be under 500 megabytes in size and 20 minutes in length. The video also must be in one of the following video formats: AVI, ASF, DV, WMV, MOV, QT, 3G2, 3GP, 3GP2, 3GPP, GSM, MPG, MPEG, MP4, M4V, MP4V, CMP, DIVX, ZVID, 264, RM, RMVS, FLV, MKV or OGM. The video that you are uploading to Myspace must not contain porn or unauthorized copyrighted material. If your video contains either of those, your Myspace account will be deleted.

Step 1 - Log-in or Create a Myspace Account

You must have an account with Myspace in order to upload videos to their website. You can log-in to your Myspace account by visiting the Myspace website and entering your account information in the Log In section of the website. The Log In section of the website is located in the middle of the page, on the right side. If you do not have an account with Myspace, click Sign Up!, which is located right next to the Log In tab and follow the directions on the screen.

Step 2 - Locating My Videos

When you log-in to your Myspace account, you will automatically be redirected to your home page. Your home page will display items such as your profile picture, profile views and your stream. While on your home page, go to the Profile tab, which is the third tab from the left on your home page. When your mouse moves over the Profile tab, a drop down list will automatically appear. Select "My Videos" from the drop down list. My Videos is the second link from the bottom of the drop down list.

Step 3 - Uploading Videos

With the My Videos page displayed, select "Upload." Upload is located on the top of the page, below the blue tabs. The Upload page will have text that reads "Browse and find a video on your computer, then click Upload Video." By clicking the Browse button, you will be able to browse your hard drive for the video file that you wish to upload to Myspace. When you have located the file, click "Open" and then "Upload Video."

After your video has been uploaded to Myspace, follow the prompts on your screen to enter basic information about the video. You will need to enter a title and description for your video. You will also need to enter at least one tag for your video. Tags are keywords that tell others what your video is about.
