than just pictures, users can also upload videos to Photobucket. This
popular photo sharing online site has now expanded to accommodate user
videos, and there's a very wide range of file formats that Photobucket
accommodates. Shockwave Flash or SWV format videos can only be uploaded
by paid members. But don't worry; if you're a free member, chances are
you'll still be able to upload your choice video to your account.
Here's how.
Step 1 - Log In
Just go to the Photobucket site, and log in your username and password. Then go to your account Home.
Step 2 - Choose Upload Options
On
your account Home, there is an upload box. If your video file is in
your computer, make sure that the My Computer option is selected. If
you're copying the video from another website, select the web URL
option.
Underneath
the "Upload images & videos" button is a link for "more options".
Click this. Here you can choose the resolution you want your video to
be saved in, whether the standard 640 x 480, or the higher resolution
1024 x 768. Free memberships can upload up to 1MB of video or a total
of 5 minutes playback. Choose if you want your videos stored in
standard definition or high definition. All videos uploaded to
Photobucket are converted to Flash Video or .flv format.
Step 3 - Choose the File for Upload
Click
on the "Upload images & videos" button. Here you are taken to your
files where you can select the videos you want to upload. Images and
videos can be uploaded to Photobucket at the same time. If you have
more than one file to upload, just press CTRL while you're making your
selections. Then press Enter. A progress bar will appear and when this
is done, then your video has been uploaded to Photobucket!
Step 4 - Edit Title
Select
your video from the recent uploads window, and select "Edit". From here
you can change your video title, tags, and description. This will make
your video easier to find and to remember.
Step 5 - Share it!
The
best part about having your video online in Photobucket is being able
to share it with your friends and family! There are many ways to share
your video. If you have a social networking site, then it's definitely
a snap.
You
can opt to copy the URL link of your file and send it via email. The
recipients simply have to click on the URL link and they will get to
view your video. If you have a social networking site, just click on
Share and you will find icons of Twitter, MySpace, and Facebook for
one-click sharing. Choose any of these, and a link to your video will
appear on your status message. If you have other social sites you want
to post in, just click on Share and a pop-up window will appear. Here
you will have the option to share on other social networking sites and
blog sites such as Friendster, Hi5, Multiply, Blogspot, Livejournal,
and more.
