How to Delete Flickr Comments

This article will address the topic of deleting Flickr comments.

While free speech is valued by all, there is such a thing as a comment (especially an online comment) that is obscene, inappropriate, incomplete, unwanted, or misleading.

Like many other Web 2.0 services, Flickr allows comment moderation by the author of the content on which the comment is based.

Here are the steps to deleting a comment on Flickr.

Step 1: Log in to Flickr

Head over to Flickr and look for "Sign In" in the upper right hand corner. (Alternately, use this link.) Input your Flickr/Yahoo! login credentials and hit "Sign In" below the text boxes.

Step 2: Locate the offending comment

Flickr will now greet you in an exotic language. Say hello to it, and then single-click on the downwards-facing arrow next to "You" at the top left of the screen. Select "Your Photostream" directly below. In your photostream, find the picture on which the comment was made (optionally, use the "Search your photostream" in the upper right) and select it.

On the picture's page, find the comment which you wish to remove.

Step 3: Delete the comment

Beneath the comment, find the two (or three) hyperlinked tools: permalink, delete, and (if the comment is yours) edit. Choose "delete" and confirm by hitting the big red button on the next page.
