How to Fix a Dead Flip Video Camera

A flip video camera is a useful and high quality device which can be used to record video. These are compact video cameras that have built-in rechargeable batteries. They are perfect for uploading to YouTube as they are simple and have no moving parts inside. These cameras also don't have any need for external cables as they have a flip USB connector built in. Here is how to fix a dead flip video camera:

Resetting the Camera

There is a small reset button which is not well publicized on the Flip Video Mino range of cameras. This is not mentioned in the instruction manual. The reset switch is inside the screw mount for a tripod. To reset it is very simple. Simply unbend a paper clip, push it gently into the hole, and hold it for 10 seconds. Repeat this three times to ensure that at least one of the times the device has been reset. Then, connect the camera to your computer and it will reinitialize itself (and should hopefully start working again).
