Capturing 3D Video Motion Analysis

Video motion analysis involves capturing motion through the technique of recording movements and then transferring those into a digital format. This technique is focused on sensors that detect motion and then transmit those movements to a computer via a wireless route. From here, the motion captured can be viewed and recorded. This system is similar in one sense to the Nintendo Wii controllers that capture movements and motion. However, with these particular sensors, they are more sensitive and feature greater resolution and detail. Inertial motion capture is becoming increasingly popular nowadays for the purpose of video motion capture.

Step 3: Mechanical Motion

Using a mechanical motion system to capture movement means you can track the body’s joints and how they move with the use of sensors that are fixed to the body. You can use a performer to move their body wearing a suit, and you can record the movements and the way the body parts act. This system is relatively cheap compared to some systems you can use for this process, and you can capture unlimited motion and movements. You can also use gloves and mechanical arms to capture motion.

Step 4: Magnetic Systems

With magnetic systems to track motion and capture movements, the performer wears magnetic pads that transfer movements back to the computer for animation. This can be extremely useful when trying to capture 3D video motion. You are given a great deal of freedom with this kind of system.

Step 5: Facial Motion Capture

Facial motion capture systems are also known as performance capture and focus on advanced movements with the face and muscles. This can create high levels of emotions that could not be captured if you were not using a 3D system. This type of capture for 3D movies is particularly useful as it adds a certain element of realism to the scenes you create and record.
