Using a Canon FD/FL/Canonflex to Exakta E Adapter

Anyone who has a vintage Canon FD/FL or Canonflex camera then they might find it difficult to get themselves new lenses. Finding these lenses can be difficult because they are all second hand and could be damaged. Often an easier option is to use an adapter to fit different lenses onto your camera. The Canon FD mount can accept a wide range of different lenses using adapters including the Exakta E lens.

These lenses are often easier to pick up and you might even have some available already. Using adapters is normally much cheaper than trying to pick up the genuine lenses for your camera. If you are using adapters then there are some simple instructions that you can follow.

Step 1: Preparing Your Exakta E Lens

If you have a Exakta E lens that you want to use on your Canon FD camera then you will need to purchase the relevant adapter. You should then ensure that the lens is clean so that it won't impair the quality of your photographs.

Step 2: Fitting the Adapter

Fit the adapter onto the Exakta lens by screwing it in. Make sure that you do this gently so that you don't risk crossing the thread. With the adapter fitted it can then be fitted to your camera as normal.

Step 3: Removing the Lens

When you want to remove the lens it can be done in the same way as a regular lens for your camera. This will remove the lens attached to the adapter. To remove the adapter press the release button and twist.
