Digital Cameras: Turn Shutter Sound On or Off
Digital cameras are very popular types of cameras, which can be used to take photographs without the need to use film. These cameras are fully automatic and store the photographs on a memory card. A traditional mechanical camera will make a shutter sound when the shutter opens. Digital cameras do not actually have to make these noise because they work in a different way.
The shutter noise that digital cameras make is played by a speaker, and this means that it can be changed fairly easily. It's also possible to turn the shutter sound off if you prefer.
Step 1: Reading the Manual
The first thing that you need to do is take a look through your camera manual to find out how to turn the shutter sound off. This option isn't supported on all cameras. The manual should show you a list of steps which can be used to turn the shutter sound off if it is supported. It's also important to make sure that it's legal to turn the shutter noises off; some countries do not allow you to turn shutter sounds on digital cameras off because these could be used to secretly capture photos without anyone noticing.
Step 2: Accessing the Settings Menu
Most of the cameras will turn off the camera shutter noise by changing options in the settings menu. Press the button to access the settings menu.
Step 3: Turning the Shutter Sound Off
Select the shutter sound and turn the sound off by selecting the correct option. Then, save the settings and test it by taking a photo. If everything worked properly, then the shutter should not make a noise.
