Digital Cameras: Change the Language Setting

Most digital cameras have several different languages installed on them; this can make using your camera easy for anyone. Sometimes you might be able to get a better deal when purchasing a digital camera if you buy it abroad. The option to change the language means that you will be able to understand how to use even the most advanced features of the camera.

1. Reading the Instruction Manual

Every camera is slightly different and this is why you should read the instruction manual. The instruction manual should also help you to find out which options to select even if the camera is set in a foreign language. If the instruction manual has been misplaced or it doesn't include your language, then it should be possible to download a copy from the manufacturers website.

2. Accessing the Settings Menu

Access the settings menu of your digital camera by pressing the appropriate key. The settings menu should allow you to change a variety of settings including the language, shutter speed and shooting mode.

3. Changing the Language

Select the correct option to change the language and then select the language you want to use. The majority of cameras will support English no matter where they were purchased from; many will also support other European and Asian languages. Press the OK button to accept the changes and then test that your camera is now in the correct language.
