How to Find Drivers for Your Canon Camcorder
If you have a Canon camcorder, then you will need to use the correct drivers for your camera. The drivers are simply a piece of software which tells the computer how to use the camcorder. Using the wrong drivers will create problems and make it impossible for your computer to control the camera correctly. Here is how you can find drivers for your Canon camcorder:
Step 1: Finding Your Device Number
The first thing that you should do is take a look at the device number of your camcorder. This is normally printed on a label on the bottom of the camera. When you know this, it will be much easier to find the right drivers.
Step 2: Visiting the Canon Site
You will need to visit the official canon website for your country. Although most models are international, some are only sold to particular regions. If you brought it while on holiday, then you might have to find the drivers on another Canon website.
Step 3: Support
When you are on the canon website, you should then click on the support option and select download drivers.
Step 4: Downloading Drivers
Search for the driver you want to download by entering the model number into the search box. Then, choose your operating system and download the driver to your computer.
Step 5: Installing
With the driver downloaded, you should then install it. Then, reset your computer and the camcorder should be able to communicate correctly.
