How to Choose a Helmet Camera

A helmet camera is a wonderful way of recording all sorts of sporting events, such as cycling and rock climbing. These cameras are very useful because they keep your hands free and make it possible to continue with the sport as you normally would. Helmet cameras are very affordable, but there are a few things that you will need to bear in mind.

Step 1: Mounting

First, you will need to consider the mounting which is used to attach the camera onto your helmet. Most of these will fit onto a normal helmet by using various adapters. However, some of these need to use specialist helmets.

Step 2: Type of Sport

You will also need to think about the purpose that you are buying the helmet camera for. Certain types of sports will require specialist types of cameras. For example, if you are skiing then you will need a camera which can withstand cold temperatures and run for a long period of time.

Step 3: Quality

Helmet cameras aren't cheap and will be used for lots of very strenuous activities. This means that substandard or poor quality helmet cameras simply won't last for long enough. Stick to well known brand names which are reputable and reliable.
