Pre-Production: Tips on Props
Props are essential to create a good video. If you want to learn how to create the ideal video, then you will need to have a wide selection of different props. Depending on the subjects of your video and the target audience, the props that you require will be different. For example, corporate videos will need a professional set of props. Family videos, on the other hand, can have different types of props.
Props which are suitable for your videos can be found pretty much anywhere. You have to be aware of this and keep an eye out for them. You will be amazed at how easy it is to pick up great value or even free props which would otherwise cost you a fortune. Every time you see something that you think might be suitable as a prop, then it's a good idea to keep it.
You could even consider going dumpster diving to find fantastic props. If you are actively looking for a certain type of prop, then it will be virtually impossible to find it at a good price. By always looking out for these props, it will be easier and cheaper.
If you found or acquired props for free or cheap, then you will probably need to refurbish them. By refurbishing the props, it will be possible to make them look better and make them look as good as new. Quite often, most props will simply need a light sand down and a coat of paint or varnish. It shouldn't take you long to refinish various props, and the time you save will be well worth it.
Also bear in mind that a simple prop can be converted into something truly amazing with the addition of some new features or decorations. You can, for example add throws, extra material or trim to old furniture to re-purpose it.
Another option which you might like to consider for your props is to design them yourself. This is fairly easy although it is quite time consuming. You will need to measure up the size of the props which are required, draw them on paper and then get ready to make them yourself.
Once you have designed the props and measured everything up, then you should start making them. You will need to make a list of the materials you need including the wood, screws and any other fixings. Then it's simply a matter of cutting the wood into pieces and fixing everything together.
Once the props have been fixed together, it should then be easy to use them in all of your videos. Remember though that these props will all need to be stored somewhere. If you can design some props which can be used in a number of different ways, then this will make a much better use of your storage space.
The props should make recording a video much easier. Over time, you will start to build up a large collection of different props which are suitable for different types of video. This should make recording videos even easier.Popular Cameras for High Quality Photos:
