How to Create a Gallery for Your Scenic Photos
Most photographers prefer to store and showcase their scenic photos in the form of galleries. These types of photos should appear in every photographer or enthusiast’s portfolio. Here is how to create your own gallery using scenic photos.
Step 1: Collect the Material
Take pictures of natural scenic areas, keeping in mind the light exposure, various angles and perspectives. Take as many shots as you want because, after all, it is digital photography. After this, collect all of the relevant material out of all the shots taken. Not all the clicks need to be included in the gallery; pick out the scenic shots that capture the natural environment in the best light.
Step 2: Choose the Right Software
It makes sense to opt for job specific software and applications, like Adobe Photoshop for example. These programs come with ready to use templates for creating scenic photo galleries and also provide a plethora of options for creating custom templates.
Step 3: Photo Editing
This is the core step in the creation of your scenic photo gallery. Selected photographs must be edited, preferably on an individual basis. Pick each image and perform basic editing like cropping out edges, adjusting exposure and contrast, resizing the picture, etc. After that is done, further effects could be added like black and white or sepia tone. You can even create collages with the best of pictures.
Try to avoid editing pictures in a batch. This may save you some good amount of time but will apply generalized settings that are not the best in case of every hand picked picture. Being a professional photographer, try to create a great gallery by paying individual attention to each picture.
Step 4: Assembly
After the pictures have been edited, the next step would be to assemble them together and arrange in the form of an album. Put the images in a sequence, such that the entire display order seems cohesive and like a storyboard. This linked and logical sequence doubles the impact of the photographs on the audience.
Step 5: Create Slideshow
The sequenced pictures should then be converted into a slideshow, with addition of appropriate background music and text or captions as needed and preferred. This slideshow could be made on pre-made templates in the form of albums and archives with multiple design options. Customizing options are also available.
Step 6: Create a DVD
You can create multiple slideshows and then create a DVD out of them, which is an ideal way of storing and showcasing your work (on both a personal as well as professional level).
