Site Up and Down - Thanks Jeanne!
The site has been up and down frequently last night and today thanks to hurricane Jeanne
and local power outages. The folks that host my site were among several million others
in the Florida area that lost power due to the high winds and downed trees. We're
doing our best to stay online and appreciate your patience during this trying time.
And thanks for your emails - we survived with very little property damage here in
the Tampa Bay area. Our hearts and prayers go out to those many Floridians that
literally lost it all during our recent rash of deadly hurricanes.

Imatest 1.0 Image Quality Evaluation Software ReleasedBoulder, Colorado -- Imatest LLC announces the release of Imatest 1.0, a software package that measures the sharpness and image quality of digital camera images and digitized film images using inexpensive widely-available targets. Never before has it been possible for photographers to measure the performance of their cameras and lenses with such accuracy and convenience. Here We Go Again - Hurricane Round TwoAgain we dodged the bullet, at least in my area we did. We never got more than 40mph winds and some rain even though it passed very close by us. The Florida east coast and many towns inland were not so lucky, our prayers and sympathy goes out to those who suffered. We're not even done with Frances and now we're looking at Ivan, yet another powerful hurricane making its way along the same path the last two followed. We can only hope that it goes somewhere else - Florida has had enough!
The site went down today because of Internet problems with Time-Warner, our server never
went down but it doesn't matter when your lose your Internet connectivity. We had power
and telephone losses all over the area today due to the high winds and downed trees
so it's no wonder that Time-Warner experienced similar problems.
