Sony Handycam NEX-VG10 Preview
Sony has just unveiled the World's first interchangeable lens HD digital camcorder, the NEX-VG10. This unit shares many of its specifications with its Alpha brethren, the NEX-3 and NEX-5. These include Sony's APS-C sized (23.4x15.6mm) Exmor CMOS image sensor, BIONZ image processing unit, and their new E-mount system.
With professional level features and technologies, the NEX-VG10 is an appealing choice for those who demand quality and versatility when it comes to HD video and still images. With the ability to use Sony's new E-mount lenses as well as all of their Minolta and Alpha series A-mount lenses using the optional LA-EA1 lens mount adaptor, the NEX-VG10 delivers almost endless focal range coverage possibilities. This adds to the overall versatility and appeal of this model, which is scheduled to hit dealers shelves in September with a suggested retail price of $1999, which includes the E-mount 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens (which has a value of $800 by itself).
