Playback Screens & Menus
(Note: Please excuse the quality of
these screen captures, Sony does not provide an Audio/Video cable with
the A550, so we had to photograph the LCD.)
When you press the Play button, the last image captured is displayed full screen. There are three display options available by pressing the DISPlay button; from minimum information, to detailed exposure info with RGB and light histograms, to nothing at all.
Here you can see the Index image mode, which allows you to view files stored on you memory card quickly with either 4, 9, or 25 small thumbnails. This option is activated by pressing the AV/Exposure Comp. button on the back. To search through files, you
simply use the left/right/up/down buttons of the 4-way controller.
Pressing the AEL button will enter the Magnify or Zoom-Playback mode, which enlarges an image up to 14x for critical inspection.
You can then scroll around the enlarged image using the 4-way controller buttons, and change the degree of
magnification using the main control dial. An indicator is displayed at the top
right corner, displaying the portion of the image that is being enlarged framed in orange.
The Play Menu has options to Delete images, Format the memory card, start a Slide show, Protect/Unprotect images, select
images for DPOF printing, and Playback display options (Manual or
Auto rotate).
