Superior Auto shooting takes the camera's auto shooting mode to the next level. Not only does the camera take care of the exposure settings, but it also chooses the best scene mode for your current shooting situation. This mode also guarantees a clear, sharp image. The camera incorporates higher ISO settings and multiple exposure images to get the best results.

If you are looking for a standard iAuto shooting mode, this can also be found on the WX300. Here the camera will take care of exposure settings and scene modes, so the only thing you have to do is point-n-shoot.

Program mode is another automatic shooting mode that gives more control over the images to the photographer. This mode does not use scenes and allows you to change the WB, ISO, Metering etc. This gives you some creative freedom, but there is no manual shooting mode.

If you need a specific shooting scene mode, you have the ability to choose from: Soft Skin, Soft Snap, Anti Motion Blur, Landscape, Backlight Correction HDR, Night Portrait, Night Scene, Hand-held Twilight, High Sensitivity, Gourmet, Pet, Beach, Snow, and Fireworks.

The 4-way controller also acts as shortcuts to some of the camera's more commonly used features. Using this controller allows you to change the display information, flash settings, drive mode and enter the photo creativity menu. This saves you from going into the camera menu to find these settings.

Movie Mode allows you to capture HD video with audio and still images at the same time, without interruption. Movie mode uses either one of the scene modes or Intelligent Auto to adjust the exposure and even track faces. Sony offers both AVCHD and MP4 recording modes in HD recording, making it easier to use the movies afterwards, depending on what you record for.
