Note - these screens came from the DSC-P30, the P20 does not have Video Out. Some options shown are not available in the P20, see the details listed below each menu for those options that pertain to the P20)


Sony DSC-P20

Typical still image record mode LCD screen display. Onscreen icons for battery condition (both graphical icon and numerical), flash mode (or output strength), image size (the P20 is 1216x912) and quality, space remaining on Memory Stick (grapical and numerical), self-timer, macro focus or manual focus preset distance, spot metering, white balance (other than auto), center focusing guide marks.

Still image record mode options:

    Exposure compensation - Override the metering +/-2EV in 1/3EV increments

    Focus - (not available on P20)

    White Balance - Automatic, Indoor, Outdoor or Hold

    Spot Meter - (enabled by the jog switch on the P20)

    ISO - Auto or fixed at 100, 200 or 400

    Image Size - 1216x912, 1216 (3:2 ratio), 1024x768, 640x480

    Picture Quality - Fine or Standard

    Record Mode - Normal, Email, Text (monochrome GIF), TIFF

    Flash Level - High, Normal or Low

    Picture Effect - None, Negative Art, Sepia, B&W, Solarize

    Sharpness - Default is 0 but may be +1, +2 or -1 or -2

Typical Movie recording mode screen display. New on the p30 and P20 cameras is the MPEG EX movie mode that can record motion clips limited only by the capacity of your Memory Stick:

    4MB = 320x240 - 42sec, 160x112 - 2:43
    64MB = 320x240 - 11:47, 160x112 - 45:36
