Playback Modes & Menus





A typical playback screen as viewed on the color LCD or EVF. Icons shown for battery condition (both graphical and time left in minutes), image size, folder name, picture number / total number of pictures. Exposure compensation value, aperture, shutter speed. Image histogram, folder name, image file number and time and date.

Extended image data can be displayed by pressing the thumbnail button twice (the first push puts it into index mode, see below). The first screen shows the aperture value, shutter speed, exposure value and the ISO equivalent.

The second screen of image data is displayed by pressing down on the 4-way controller. Now the metering mode, flash mode and white balance setting can be viewed.

Playback index mode, nine thumbnail size images are displayed per page. You can quickly search through the stored images and display one full screen by selecting it and then pressing the telephoto zoom button.

While viewing a picture you can press the telephoto zoom button and enlarge the image in multiple steps up to 5x. Once magnified you can scroll around inside of the image using the 4-way selector.

Still image playback mode options:

    FOLDER - Select the image folder

    DELETE - Erase images from Memory Stick

    PROTECT - Protect/unprotect images from accidental erasure

    DPOF - Attach DPOF printing information to image(s)

    SLIDE - Start slideshow, set interval time between images

    RESIZE - Resize image to 1600x1200, 1280x960, 640x480

    ROTATE - Rotate portrait mode images for TV display

    DIVIDE - Divide MPEG movie clips

Full screen 320x240HQX movie playback. Normal 320x240 and 160x120 movie clips play back in a smaller window. Playback volume is adjusted using the Up and Down portion of the 4-way selector.

  • MOVING IMAGE Select exposure mode for the Movie position on the Mode Dial - MPEG movie, Clip Motion or Multi-Burst
  • DATE/TIME Stamp image with Date, Day & Time or None
  • DIGITAL ZOOM Enable or disable digital zoom function
  • RED EYE REDUCTION Enable or disable red-eye flash mode
  • HOLOGRAM AF Auto or disable the hologram autofocus mode
  • CONVERSION LENS Select when using an add-on lens

  • EXPANDED FOCUS Enable/disable 2x enlarged view during manual focusing
  • BRACKET STEP Auto Exposure Bracketing step +/- 0.3, 0.7 or 1.0EV
  • HOT SHOE Enable/disable flash hot shoe contact
  • ZOOM RING SETUP Select direction (CW-CCW) of the lens zoom ring
