Record Screens & Menus

Note: the WB750 kit does not include an AV cable, therefore we had to photograph the LCD for the screens below.

samsung_wb750_rec_auto.gifHere we take a look at Samsung's "Smart Auto" shooting mode, which is a fully automatic program that analyzes the scene being framed to determine the correct camera settings and scene modes settings to use. They propose that this setting helps you capture better photos in various shooting situations, and all you have to worry about is framing the picture and pressing the shutter release.  Above you can also see the different display options, which is controlled by pressing Up on the 4-way controller; Show basic info, Show all info, Hide all info.

samsung_wb750_rec_ready.jpgWhen you half press the shutter release, several systems are put into action, including the AE (Auto Exposure), AF (AutoFocus), and Smart Auto's scene recognition. This is done almost instantly, and when the camera is ready you get a short audible note, along with seeing which of the nine AF points are active. At the bottom right, you'll notice instead of the Smart icon, we have a flower. This indicates that the camera has determined that the scene being framed is a Macro type scene.

samsung_wb750_rec_program.jpgFor those who like automatic exposure, however they like access to more advanced settings, The WB750 offers Program mode. In this mode, the camera still chooses the exposure settings (shutter and aperture), however you now have access to settings like ISO, White Balance, etc. Above we have Show All Information enabled, so you can see all of the icons on the screen; including a histogram. Pressing Up on the 4-way controls what you see on the screen.

samsung_wb750_rec_movie.jpgThe WB750 offers several Movie mode options, with resolution settings of 1920x1080, 1280x720, and 640x480. Sound is recorded in Stereo, thanks to two microphones mounted on the top of the camera. The frame rate is 30fps for all modes, however pressing the burst mode button on the back of the camera gives you access to High speed video options or 250 and 440 fpgs; resolution is reduced at these settings. All movie clips are saved in MPEG-4 (H.264) format, with a maximum clip length of 20 minutes. The Optical zoom is available during video, giving you greater versatility with your framing options in movie mode when compared to most cameras that do not allow you to use the zoom while recording.

Other options that are available in movie mode are OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), Exposure Compensation, Smart Filter, Metering, Smart Face Detection, and Voice.
