Quick Take
Pros
  • Well built and stylish body
  • Produces pleasing 14-megapixel photos
  • Acceptable noise levels up to ISO 800
  • Cool Motion Recognition options in record and playback modes

  • Larger Dual View screen is much easier to see
  • Additional "feet" on the bottom to allow you to take angled shots while the camera is sitting on a flat surface

Cons
  • Touchscreen only responds to the flesh of your finger tips; so, those with long nails might have a more difficult time operating the camera
  • Lens starts at 35mm (equivalent), which might cause some headaches when framing indoors
  • Uses microSD/SDHC cards, which are VERY easy to lose
  • Good deal of noise from ISO 800 on up
  • Red-eye in the majority of our people photos
  • No A/V cables included
  • Shooting performance is only average
Bottom Line

Samsung's most compact dualscreen camera to date, the ST100 is quite different from past models in this line. While sharing almost identical specs to the new ST600, the ST100 uses an internal 5x optical zoom lens, and is noticeable smaller. Like the ST600, it features a larger 1.8-inch front LCD screen, allowing you to share images with your subjects or easily capture self-portraits.

The ST100 boasts 14-megapixels of resolution, a 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD on the back of the camera, smart face recognition, and 720p HD video capture.
