Playback Screens & Menus

Viewing captured images and video on the NX1000's LCD screen gives you a few options. You can see just the image, a full list of shooting settings or a full color histogram for the image. Pressing the DISP button on the 4-way controller allows you to change this setting.

Index mode allows you to see thumbnails of the files that are stored on the SD card. This is an easy way to search through a large number of images quickly to find the one that you are looking for. Along the bottom you can see the date in which the images or videos were captured.

While looking at an image, you can press the OK button to zoom in on it. Once you have zoomed in, you can use the 4-way controller to scroll around the image. Pressing the Fn button allows you to crop and save a new image with just what is shown on the LCD screen.

Playback Menu:
  • Delete - Select, All
  • Share (Wi-Fi) - All of your options for uploading your images
  • Protect - Stop an image from deleted
  • Image Edit - Smart FIlter, Red-eye Fix, Backlight, Resize, Rotate, Face Retouch, Brightness, Contrast, Vignetting
  • Thumbnail Mode - Set the number of thumbnails to view in index mode
  • View - Single, 3, 15, 40
  • Auto Rotate - On/Off
  • DPOF - Standard, index, Size

Slideshow Settings:
  • Slideshow - Run the slideshow
  • Images - All, Date, Select
  • Effect - Off, Calm, Shine, Relax, Lively, Sweet
  • Interval - 1, 3, 5, 10 seconds
  • Music - Choose from one of the installed background songs

The NX1000's editing menu features: Red-eye Fix, Backlight, Resize, Rotate, Face Retouch, Brightness, Contrast, Vignetting. These are all processes that take time on a computer, but the camera can do them instantly for you, saving you a ton of time.

The smart filter applies a creative filter to an image. The side-by-side display shows you what your image will look like before you actually apply it: Off, Miniature, Soft Focus, Old Film 1-2, Halftone Dots, Sketch, Fish Eye, Defog and Negative.

Movies can be played back, edited and images captured from them; all within the same playback mode. The 4-way controller gives you DVR-like control over the movie. Audio is played back on the camera's built-in speaker. With an optional HDMI or A/V cable, the videos can also be viewed on any TV or HDTV.

Setup menu options:
  • Language - Select the language shown in the display
  • File Name - Standard, Date
  • File Number - Series, Reset
  • Folder Type - Standard, Date
  • Format - Format the memory card
  • Reset - Resets the camera settings to factory default
  • Quick View - Off, 1sec, 3sec, 5sec, Hold
  • Display Adjust - Display Brightness, Auto Brightness, Display Color
  • Auto Display Off - Off, 0.5min, 1min, 3min, 5min, 10min
  • Power Save - 0.5min, 1min, 3min, 5min, 10min, 30min
  • Date & Time - Set the date and time for the camera
  • Help Guide Display - On or Off
  • Sound - System Volume, AF Sound, Button Sound
  • Sensor Cleaning - Sensor Cleaning, Start-Up Action
  • Video Out - NTSC, PAL
  • Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) - On or Off
  • HDMI Output - Auto, 1080i, 720p, 480p, 576p
  • Device Information - Body Firmware, Lens Firmware
