Ricoh GX200 Review

The screen display in the Automatic record mode. Icons across the top indicate that the flash is disabled, there is a SD card in the camera, Auto record mode. The image size is 4000 (12-megapixels), quality is Fine and there's space left on the SD card to take 779 more pictures. On the bottom is the battery condition icon and the ISO setting. Above the ISO settings is the electronic level, that assists you in taking level shots anywhere.

Program exposure mode allows you to select the aperture for the exposure. Here you also see the different amounts of screen information. They can be pressed by pressing the DISP. button on the back of the camera.

For full Manual exposure you select a shutter with the ADJ. dial or in the menu (1/800, 1/640, 1/500, 1/400, 1/320, 1/250, 1/200, 1/160, 1/125, 1/100, 1/80, 1/60, 1/50, 1/40, 1/30, 1/25, 1/20, 1/15, 1/13, 1/10, 1/8, 1/6, 1/5, 1/4, 1/3, 1/2.5, 1/2, 1/1.6, 1/1.3, 1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 30, 60, 120 and 180 seconds.) and select the aperture with the dial by the shutter release.

The GX 200 has a very respectable macro focusing mode. The Macro focus range is from 1.0 to infinity in Wide angle.

The GR2 shoots video in either 640x480 or 320x240 resolution at 15 or 30 pfs. Movie clips are recorded in Motion JPEG format and saved as AVI files.
