When you select Playback mode the last picture taken is displayed. You can move backward or forward through the images one a t a time using the LEFT and RIGHT buttons or either dial. By using the UP and DOWN buttons you can move back and forth by 10 images at a time. The amount of overlay information displayed is controlled by pressing the DISP button.

You can quickly search through stored images using the Index playback function which is actuated by pressing the Wide zoom control button. The first screen that will appear shows you a large image and the previous and next images smaller on each side. Pressing it again will give you nine thumbnail size images will be displayed and you can select one using the LEFT or RIGHT buttons and then pressing the Telephoto zoom button.

The image can be magnified up to 16x in 15 steps by pressing the telephoto zoom button. Once the image is enlarged at any step, you can move around inside of it using the 4-way selector buttons.

Movie clips can be played in the camera with audio thanks to the built-in speaker. Here is the full info screen shown before playing a movie clip. To play the movie you have to press the ADJ. dial on the back of the camera.

Play Menu:

    Slide Show - Starts a slide show of all images on the memory card
    Protect - Allows you to protect images so they can not be deleted
    DPOF - Sets print settings for the images
    Resize - Resize the current image on the camera
    Copy to Card - Copy images from the internal memory to the memory card
    Skew Correction - Adjusts images and makes them square

Large images can be resized down smaller when needed.

The Setup sub-menu lets you format the SD card or Internal memory, adjust LCD brightness, program the ADJ buttons to change resolution, focus mode, sharpness or metering mode or leave it as the default function. Turn beep sounds on/off, set the auto review time, auto power off time, turn sequential file numbering on, enable power save, color space set, set date, set the menu language, specify the video out format (NTSC or PAL), enable the step zoom function and more.
