Record Mode Screens & Menus
The screen display in the Auto or Program AE record mode. Icons across the top indicate that the flash is off, there is a SD card in the camera, Auto record mode. The image size is 1280 (1280x960, 1.2M), quality is Normal and there's space left on the SD card to take 1917 more pictures. Along the left hand side of the frame is the focus mode (Normal 30cm - infinity) and the zoom scale. On the bottom is the battery condition icon and the ISO (80) setting. Pressing the DISP. button will change the amount of information shown on the screen.
When you half press the shutter release, the screen above is shown. The AF frame (rectangle) will turn green over the intended area of focus, and the aperture and shutter speed values the camera has chosen will be across the bottom.
Program mode Rec. Menu:
Exposure Metering - Multi, Center, Spot
Img Settings - Normal, Hard, Soft, B&W, Sepia, Custom Settings
Flash Expo. Comp. - ±2 in 1/3 increments
Auto Bracket - Off, On, WB-BKT, CL-BKT, FOCUS-BKT
Time Exposure - Off, 1, 2, 4 and 8 Sec.
Record Dual Size - On or Off
Custom Self Timer - Set number of pics and intervals between them
Fix Min. Aperture - On or Off
Interval - Automatically shoots at an interval that you set.
Camera Shake Cor. - On or Off
Slow Shutter Limit - Off, 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8 Sec.
Date Imprint - Off, Date, Time
Exposure Compensation - ±2 in 1/3 increments
White Balance - Auto, Multi-P Auto, Outdoors, Cloudy, Incandescent Lamp, Incandescent Lamp2, Fluorescent Lamp,
Restore Defaults - Reset the camera to the factory defaults
DR or Dynamic Range Double Shot, captures two consecutive pictures different exposure settings and then the areas with the appropriate exposure are combined together. This mode uses a slower shutter speed than other modes, so be careful of camera shake when taking pictures; a tripod or monopod is highly recommended for the best results.
This shortcut 'function' menu allows you to quickly changes camera settings by pressing the ADJ./OK button inward. The default settings are Exposure Comp., White Balance, ISO, and Quality. However, you can change these settings (only a total of 4 can be used at once) via the setup menu. Available options include: Focus, Image size, Expo. Metering, Auto Bracket, Flash Comp., Min. Aperture, etc.
Here is the Scene selection menu. These are pre-programmed exposure modes that have been tailored to help you capture the best results in specific shooting situations. A brief description is displayed on the right when you settle on any one setting.
The CX1 shoots video with audio in either 640x480 or 320x240 resolution at 15fps or 30fps Movie clips are recorded in Motion JPEG format and saved as AVI files. The optical zoom may not be used while recording, but you can preset the desired focal length before starting. The built-in camera shake system does not operate in movie mode.
