Controls, Function, Record and Custom Menus

Pressing the INFO button while in capture mode displays a screen full of settings and parameters currently in use. Capture mode, Scene mode, AE metering, Flash mode, Drive mode, Exposure bracket, Focus mode, AF point position, Lens focal length, Shutter speed, Aperture, EV compensation, Flash exposure compensation, Sensitivity, ISO correction, White balance, GM compensation, BA compensation, Color space, File format, JPEG recorded pixels, JPEG quality, Shake reduction, Image tone, Saturation/Filter effect, Hue/Toning, Contrast, Sharpness/Fine sharpness, World time, Date and time, Battery level.


Turning the Mode Dial to select another exposure mode will cause the color LCD to briefly display the screens show above. This function can be disabled by turning Guide Display off in the Setup menu.

Function Menu Options


Pressing the Fn (Function) button in record mode brings up a shortcut menu that allows you to quickly change the White Balance, ISO, Drive Mode or Flash Mode.


Pressing the OK button calls up the Custom Image menu. You use Custom Image to adjust setting such as color and contrast before shooting an image. Select from six modes for image tone: Bright, Natural, Portrait, Landscape, Vibrant or Monochrome.

Record Menu Options


  • AF Mode - AF.S or AF. C
  • AE Metering - Multi-segment, Center-weighted or Spot metering
  • Select AF point - Auto, Select or Center
  • File Format - JPEG, RAW, RAW+JPEG
  • JPEG Rec. Pixels - 10M, 6M, 2M
  • JPEG Quality - *** 3872x2592, **3008x2000, * 1824x1216
  • RAW file format - PEF or DNG
  • Color Space - Select sRGB or AdobeRGB
  • RAW button - Set function of camera's RAW button to Cancel each time, and file format
  • Memory - Set the parameters to be "remembered" from power off to power on
  • Input Focal Length - Set focal length of attached non-automatic lens, used by Shake Reduction system

Custom Settings


  • Setting - Sets all Custom menu settings to the default
  • EV Steps - 1/2 or 1/3
  • Sensitivity Steps - 1 EV Steps, As EV Steps
  • Meter Operating Time - 10 sec, 3 sec, or 30 sec
  • AE-L with AF locked - Off or On
  • Link AF Point and AE - Off or On
  • Auto Bracketing order - 0-+, -0+, +0-, 0+-
  • Adjust White Balance - Off or On
  • Superimpose AF Area- On or Off
  • AF in remote control - Off or On
  • Slow Shutter Speed Noise Reduction - Auto or On
  • High-ISO Noise Reduction - Off, Weakest, Weak, Strong
  • OK button when shooting - Sensitivity/No. of Shots, Center of AF Point, Enable AF, Cancel AF
  • e-dial in Program - Program shift, Tv, Av or Off
  • Green button in Manual - Program Line, Tv Shift, Av Shift or Off
  • Shutter release when charging flash - Off or On
  • Flash in Wireless Mode - On or Off
  • WB when using flash - Flash or Unchanged
  • Preview Method - Digital Preview or Optical Preview
  • Display Sensitivity - Off or On
  • Saving rotation info - On or Off
  • Auto Image Rotation - On or Off
  • Catch-in focus - Off or On
  • Using aperture ring - Prohibited or Permitted
  • Reset Custom Function Reset or Cancel
