Record Screens & Menus

iAuto (Intelligent Auto) allows the camera to choose and adjust all of the settings to capture the best image possible. This includes the camera selecting the most appropriate shooting mode for your current shooting situation. Pressing the DISPlay button lets you choose the amount and type of information available on the LCD screen. The 4 choices are shown above.

panasonic_zs10_rec_ready.JPG Half-pressing the shutter release allows the camera to lock its focus and exposure. Here you can see that the camera has focused on the top left corner of the image. Since the camera thinks that it has detected a face, it has selected Portrait mode from the scene choices and locked in its aperture and shutter settings as well.

panasonic_zs10_rec_program.JPGProgram is also an automatic shooting mode, however, you have more control over the camera's settings. No scene mode is available here, so your settings will always be consistent unless you change them.

panasonic_zs10_rec_scenes_anim.gifScene Modes: Portrait, Soft Skin, Transform, Self-Portrait, Scenery, Panorama Assist, Sports, Night Portrait, Night Scenery, Handheld Night Shot, Food, Party, Candle  Light, Baby1, Baby2, Pet, Sunset, High sensitivity, Flash Burst, Starry Sky, Fireworks, Beach, Snow, Aerial Photo, Pin Hole, Film Grain, High Dynamic, Photo Frame, Underwater and High Speed Movie

panasonic_zs10_rec_manual.JPGAs you select your shooting mode via the mode dial, you will also see the same list of modes on the LCD screen. This allows you to change your modes without having to look at the dial. With a full set of manual modes, this camera can be much more than a standard point-n-shoot camera.

panasonic_zs10_rec_touch.JPGThe ZS10's touch screen allows you to touch the screen to choose your focus point, and it also allows you to control the camera's zoom functions. Touching the appropriate places gives you two speeds of zoom both in and out with buttons that automatically go the wide and telephoto ends.
