Pressing the playback button enters the camera into playback mode. The last image captured will be shown first. Pressing the DISP. button allows you to change the amount of information from no info to a full list of shooting information to a list of GPS coordinates and altitude info.

Pressing the zoom control to the wide end takes you into index mode. Here you can choose between 12 or 30 thumbnail images at a time to quickly search through your images. Pressing it again takes you to a calendar where you can see the images taken on a specific date.

Using the telephoto end allows you to zoom in on an image up to 16x. Once you have zoomed in, you can use the 4-way controller to scroll through the image.

In playback mode you have the option for Normal Playback, Slideshow, Filtered Playback and Calendar mode.

Playback Menu:
  • Upload Set - Upload a single image or set to the web
  • Title Edit - Add a title to one or several images
  • Place-Name Edit - Edit the name of a place recorded by GPS
  • Text Stamp - Add shooting date, Age, Travel Date or Title to an image
  • Video Divide - Allows you to trim a video
  • Resize - Create a smaller copy of an image
  • Cropping - Allows you to crop your images inside the camera
  • Favorite - On or Off
  • Print Set - Single or Multi
  • Protect - Protect one or multi images to protect from deletion
  • Face Recog. - Delete the face recognition from the image
  • Copy - Copy images from the memory card to the internal memory and visa versa

Cropping allows you to trim the edges of you images while they are still on the camera. This saves you time from editing the images later on your computer.

  • Resize lets you make a smaller copy of an image that is already on the camera. This is another way to save time later by doing this on your camera instead of a computer.

Camera Setup Menu:
  • Precautions - Teaches you the waterproof techniques to keep the camera safe
  • Clock Set - Set the time and date
  • Auto Clock Set - Uses GPS to auto set the clock
  • World Time - Set Home and Destination (if traveling) time zones
  • Travel Date - Set date of travel and location
  • Beep - Changes the volume of several of the camera settings
  • Volume - Internal speaker volume control
  • LCD Mode - Off, Auto Power LCD, Power LCD, High Angle
  • Guide Line - Set Rec. Info (On/Off), Histogram (On/Off), and grid lines pattern
  • Histogram - Turn on a histogram
  • Rec Area - On or Off
  • Economy - Reduces the brightness of LCD to save battery power (Level 1 or 2)
  • Auto Review - Auto review after capture (off, 1s, 3s, Zoom)
  • No. Reset - Reset file numbering counter
  • Reset - Reset all settings to factory default
  • USB Mode - PC Mass Storage / PictBridge
  • Output - Choose 4:3 or 16:9
  • VIERA Link - Allows you to link the camera to a Panasonic VIERA HDTV
  • 3D Playback - 3D, 2D
  • Rotate Disp. - On, Connected to External Monitor, Off
  • Version Disp. - Firmware version
  • Format - Format the memory card
  • Language - Choose the menu language
  • Demo Mode - See demo of camera movement, or the auto demo
