Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1 Review

Program AE is the automatic exposure mode and is enabled when the aperture ring and shutter speed dial are set on the (A)uto position. The camera selects the best combination of aperture and shutter speed for a proper exposure. When you half-press the shutter a dial icon will appear, you can now "Shift" the aperture to another value by using the Command Dial.

Aperture-priority mode is enabled by setting the aperture ring on anything other than the (A)uto position. Rotate the Command Dial to select the desired aperture value and the camera picks the proper shutter speed.

We have the realtime histogram display enabled. Icons across the top indicate "A"perture exposure mode, flash is enabled, macro focus mode enabled, ISO sensitivity is set to 100, the image size is 2560x1920, quality is Super Fine, battery is full, there's space for 101 more pictures at this resolution and quality.

Shutter-speed priority mode is enabled by setting the shutter speed dial on any position other than (A)uto. The shutter speed dial has separate positions for 1/4 to 1/2000 seconds, the "2-8s" position gives you access to the 1/2 to 8 second long shutter speeds which are selected by rotating the Command Dial.

Manual mode is enabled when both the aperture ring and shutter speed dial are on other than the (A)uto position. You can adjust both values as desired. A metering scale is displayed so you can properly adjust the exposure value.

W.BALANCE - White balance; Auto, Sunny, Cloudy, Incandescent, Flash, B&W or Manual Set

BURST RATE - High (2.7fps), Low (1fps)

AUDIO REC. - Record 5-sec of audio with still images; On or Off

D.ZOOM - Enable or disable digital zoom function

FLASH SYNC. - Slow flash sync: 1st or 2nd curtain

PICT.ADJ - Adjust image contrast, sharpness or saturation

MOTION IMAGE - Enable movie capture mode and set the framerate

FLIP ANIM. - Create small 320x240 animations in-camera

FINDER - Adjust EVF backlight intensity

AUTO REVIEW - Display image after capture; Off, 1sec, 3sec

BEEP - Button beep sounds volume and shutter sound effects

POWER SAVE - Off, 2min, 5min, 10min

MF ASSIST - Manual focus assist: Off, Enlarge center of frame or enlarge entire frame

CUSTOM SET - Assign items to FUNCTION button: Available choices are WB, WB Adjust, Pict Size, Quality, Spot AF, ISO, Burst Rate, Audio Rec, D.Zoom, Flash Sync, Contrast, Sharpness, Saturation, Motion Image, Flip Anim

NO.RESET - Reset the file numbers
