Olympus has announced the latest in its V-Series line of compact, point-and-shoot digital still cameras, the VR-340. The highlight is the 10x optical zoom lens, which is 35mm-equivalent to a 24-240mm lens. Combined with AF Tracking mode, you'll be able to capture wide visits as well as distant action shots of moving targets. The camera's 16 megapixel CCD image sensor is also capable of recording 720p HD video.
The VR-340 also has an AF Illuminator and upgraded ISO capabilities to enhance the quality of low light photography. Beauty Make-up Mode is a new feature this year making it onto many other Olympus cameras. It allows you to add eyeliner and other make-up effects to photos as well as physically altering your photo subjects in-camera without the need of expensive software like Adobe Photoshop.
