When you switch to Play mode the last picture captured is displayed full
screen with a minimal amount of overlay information (image quality, time/date,
and picture number).
Pressing the DISP button will show the extended exposure overlay information of an image. It
displays image quality (SHQ), image size (3072 x 2304), aperture (F3.7), shutter speed (1/80
sec.), exposure compensation (0.0), white balance (Auto), ISO speed (100), date (4/28/06), time
(02:05), file folder (100), and picture number (0037).
Press the DISP button again for the histogram display screen.
Flipping the zoom control to the wide angle position enables the thumbnail index mode. You can
display either 4, 9, or 16 thumbnails as well as the calendar page, allowing you to quickly
locate a desired image on your memory card. The green "movie camera" indicates that the image is
a video file.
While viewing an image full screen, you can move the zoom control lever to the telephoto
position and magnify an image from several times in 1x steps. You can move around the image
using the 4-way selector to examine the picture for color, focus, etc.
The PLAY MENU has options for Protecting and Rotating images, Slideshow, DPOF printing,
attaching SOUND clips, and Album entry. The EDIT MENU has options for RAW EDIT (resolution,
white balance, sharpness, contrast and saturation), Image Resize, Image Crop, Redeye Fix, Black&
White, Sepia, Frame, Title, Calendar, Layout, Brightness and Saturation. Card and Setup are the
same as in record mode.
Pressing OK/MENU when the file is a movie brings up this menu of options. The Album feature adds
images to the selected album, the Mode Menu accesses the Playback, Card and Setup menus and the
MOVIE PLAY option allows you to play the movie in-camera. Pressing down will jump to the
calendar index page.
While the movie is playing, the run time and total time is displayed in the lower right corner
of the screen. You can then fast forward, rewind, and adjust the volume (when enabled) using
the 4-way controller.
